Nian’s World
Nian Dev Mehta stood by the glass window of his office corner, the city of Mumbai stretching beneath him like a mosaic of dreams and disappointments. At just 27, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Mehta Empire Holdings- a part of the grand DM Group of Companies, a legacy built by his grandfather, Dev Mehta and run efficiently by his father Rajendra Dev Mehta.
Nian was a man of contrasts- calm but cold, confident but ruthless. His mind was always calculating, always planning. Employees feared his answer, which arrived like a quiet storm- never loud, but always devastating. His voice rarely rose, but always words cut sharper than any insult. For the world, he was the powerful heir, a man who commanded respect wherever he went. But those close to him knew better- Nian was a fortress, guarded and unyielding. His life was all about deals, contracts, and properties that touched the sky, yet he never allowed anyone to touch his heart.
The Mehta family was a legacy in itself- founded by Dev Mehta, a visionary who turned a small jewellery shop into Mehta Royal Jewels, a premium diamond and gold jewellery brand. But it was Mehta Empire Holdings that defined their destiny dominating luxury property development and investment across the country.
A knock at the door pulled him from his thoughts:
“Sir, the board meeting is about to begin”, his assistant Mr. Sandeep announced.
Nian nodded, his face a mask of calm authority. But beneath that calm was a man with a heart frozen by responsibility ,and a soul too proud to ask for warmth
Geetu’s World
Geetu Lakshmi stared at the rows of books in front of her, the scent of freshly printed pages filling in the air. Working at Wordcraft Book house ,one of the most famous book houses in Mumbai, in the quiet world of inventory management and as a store keeper, was her first job- and she was already late for the fourth time this month.
“Geetu, hurry up! We have new arrivals to sort”,
her manager Mrs. Preeti’s voice echoed from the next aisle.
“Coming”
she called out. almost tripping over a stack of books by her feet. That was Geetu-confident enough to yell across the store. yet clumsy enough to nearly bring a shelf down in the process.
At 24, she had left her home in Kerala to embrace the chaos of Mumbai. Her parents were proud of her, though they still called every evening to make sure she was eating properly. And her little brother, Manav ,never misses a chance to tease her for being a big-city girl now.
Geetu’s nature was a strange contradiction- Her mind was a constant whirlwind, overthinking the smallest of things, yet she found comfort in her own delusional world, where every smile was a secret promise and every rainy day was a scene from a romantic novel. In real life she is never benign in a relationship.she thought a relationship is not for her ,coz its hard to find a loyal guy in this generation. For her it should be one man who will fall in love with her and settle by marriage. And deep down she craved unconditional love.
marriage. And deep down she craved unconditional love.
As she stacked the books, her thoughts wandered again.
What if a handsome stranger picked up a book and they accidentally touched hands?
What if he smiled at her? What if …..
“Geethu ! Focus !”
Mrs. Preeti’s voice broke through her fantasy. She shook her head, her cheeks flushing.
She really needed to stop daydreaming at work.
